A very informative lecture on Breast Cancer was arranged By MediHealth Clinic at Saba Palace [adjacent to Medi Health Clinic] Medi Health is a project by The Latif Kapadia Memorial Trust; an organization created for the welfare of the underprivileged. The lecture was specifically directed towards women and was conducted by Dr. Ashraf, a very polite and tactful doctor from Kiran Hospital, to an audience of about seventy women.
Breast cancer has recently begun to spread dramatically, one out of every eight women has Breast Cancer therefore, the lecture was to basically tell women about how important it is to talk about this disease and was successful in breaking the ‘taboo’ image of breast cancer. The lecture also covered vulnerable women, symptoms and prevention methods of the disease and procedures of self checking.
Dr. Ashraf conducted the lecture in the simplest of language in a very descriptive yet understandable manner, she demonstrated ways of self checking of the disease and also explained the procedure which should be followed if the disease is suspected or diagnosed. Not just this, free individual check ups were also conducted where Dr. Ashraf also spoke to women about their individual problems, concerns and suspicions.
